ARP 271 is a pair of interacting galaxies with the designation NGc 5426 and NGC 5427. They are located approximately 130 mil ly from Earth with an apparent magnitude of 11.4. The interaction has resulted in a bridge of newly forming stars lying between them. Several other remote galaxies are visible in the image. ARP 271 lies within the constellation of Virgo. The images was completed using data from a remote hosting facility. The image is part of the “Klein & Fein” showcase.
